I am a wife and mom of three awesome kids. I am an Internal Medicine physician and was appointed a member of the Maryland Behavioral Analyst Advisory Committee in 2019. I am a participant of the Maryland Partners in Policymaking 2020 program and honored to have met and learned from so many extraordinary advocates doing extraordinary work. My oldest son has Autism Spectrum Disorder. I’m proud to say that he graduated high school with honors in 2019 and began college in the Fall of 2019. He has faced challenges and knows that there will be more challenges to come. However, he knows that he can tackle the challenges with the coping skills and strategies he has learned. College was a dream that has become a reality. I believe the challenges people with disabilities face are life-long and the protection of their rights needs to be long term. I have always wanted to become more involved in advocacy and be a voice for parents of children who are on the spectrum. This led me to start the Autism Mom MD Facebook group and the Autism Mom MD Podcast.
